Jazz is fond of fusions, experimenting to see what comes of melding jazz with traditional music, pop, electronic, rock and even classical music...

The 17th Des Rives & Des Notes festival at the confluence of Oloron’s two snowmelt rivers – the Gave d’Aspe and the Gave d’Ossau – will be a showcase for these musical confluences with an international line-up of whitewater thrill calibre... Andy Sheppard (UK), Paolo Fresu (Italy), Térez Montcalm (Quebec), Esperanza Spalding USA), Dhafer Youssef (Tunisia), Tigran Hamasyan (Armenia), Youn Sun Nah (Korea) and many other artistes from 25 June to 4 July.
Over the weekend of July 2, 3 and 4 the Gave d'Aspe riverside venue will come alive with a variety of organised musical and other activities, and free concerts for all the family to enjoy in and around the festival village marquee, with food, fun for the family and craft exhibition near... the confluence!
